Youth Scholarship Deadline September 15
The Breeders Sweepstakes
Commission has launched a merit-based youth scholarship program! For the
first time, the Breeders Sweepstakes program will be awarding Sweepstakes
scholarships based on the use of Sweepstakes horses rather than earning a Top
Five or Top Ten win. The Commission wants to give all youth participating on
Sweepstakes horses an opportunity to get something back from the program.
Eligibility requires a youth to
compete on a Sweepstakes-nominated horse during their competitive youth
career at one of the 18 regional shows, competitive trail or endurance rides
or at Youth or Canadian Nationals. For this year only, 20 scholarships of
$2,500 each will be awarded to high school graduating classes from both 2002
and 2003. From 2004 forward, 40 scholarships will be awarded each year to
that year's graduating class only. To apply for scholarships for this
year, applications must be submitted by September 15, 2003. Download

Sport Horse
Nationals
This show is the first and only
of its kind: the first-ever Sport Horse Nationals is the only
national breed championship showexclusively for sport horses.

youth will be competing at this show, so you may see one of your friends!

Judging
Contest Deadline
Attention youth exhibitors,
future trainers, aspiring judges, and horse lovers!!!... that should include
pretty much all of you… Judging horses is probably the best way ever to
have fun, make friends, learn more about horses, and add speaking and
critical thinking to your repertoire (think college survival skills!).
It just so happens that your association, AHA, has one of the most
prestigious and longest-running youth horse judging contests in the world.
The 33rd annual Arabian Horse Judging Contest will be held Friday,
October 24th in Albuquerque, New Mexico during US Nationals.

“Forms.” Submit your entry by September 22nd!
